Antony has let the country down; Must apologize to the nation: BJP
The Bharatiya Janata Party has slammed defence minister A K Antony for the clean chit given to Pak army in the dastardly killing of five Indian soldiers at the LoC on Tuesday. Stating that he has let the country down, the BJP has sought an apology from Antony towards the nation.
“AK Antony has let the country down. He should apologise to India,” Sushma Swaraj said in the Lok Sabha.
Sushma Swaraj said that the defence minister has made contradicting statements regarding the attack, which has given Pakistani army an ‘escape route’.
“The ministry of defence in its press release had blamed the Pakistani army for the LoC attack,” Sushma Swaraj said.
Lok Sabha was adjourned till noon and the Rajya Sabha for 15 minutes after opposition’s uproar over contradictory statements by A K Antony.
On Tuesday, five Indian soldiers were killed by a heavily armed “border action team (BAT)” of Pakistan troops and “jihadi elements” in a brazen raid across the Line of Control in the Poonch sector of Jammu & Kashmir.
Tuesday’s killings have made bleak, the resumption of the composite dialogue with Pakistan that is slated to resume in a few weeks.
