AntI Hindu credentials of TN Govt.

When the statue of EVR was ‘installed on the sly’ in Srirangam,the ‘secular’ anti-Hindu Govt. in Tamil Nadu,maintained a sphinx like silence.Suddenly, it has burst into ‘secular’ action!!
EVR’s ‘history’ is well known.After all,he had stated that:’Tamil is a
barbourous language and Tamilians are barbarians’.’15 August 1947 is a day of mourning and sorrow’.His Justice Party wanted the British Rule to continue and they took no part in our Freedom Movement.The ‘Dravida Kazhagam’ was well tutored by invasion theorists. Periyar projected Hindu dharma as an Aryan imposition from the north.Instigated thus by colonial officials and their missionary cohorts,like Bishop Caldwell,the Bishop of Tirunelvelly during the Raj, Tamil society came to accept an invented Dravidian identity and to create a chillingly anti-Hindu polity, which even assumed anti-India separatist overtones.

However,after 75 years of Periyarisms, TN remains the most religious state, with maximum attendance in temples, in blatant defiance of Periyar’s diktats. Do these teeming multitudes cease to be Tamilians, as allegiance to Periyar’s views has been declared the test of Tamil identity? In any case,no one knows whether EVR was a ‘Tamilian’ himself!!
As far as the TN Govt. goes,the great sensitivity shown by it on the nominal Da Vinci Code film issue has not been shown on a more sensitive and more substantive issue involving the time-honoured religious feelings and sentiments of the Hindus in majority.Its anti-Hindu credentials are glaringly evident.Hindus cannot hope to get justice at the hands of this government.
