AIADMK insults Jayendra Saraswathi: Kanchipuram tense
KANCHIPURAM: A billboard depicting the Shankaracharyas of the Kanchi Mutt has caused serious tension all over the temple town of Kanchipuram. The billboard was put up by an AIADMK functionary and has picturised the Acharyas in a highly derogatory manner. Though no untoward incidents have been reported till now, the Hindus in the area are upset and annoyed with the AIADMK action. Janata Party President Dr Subramanian Swamy has strongly condemned the AIADMK action in the strongest of words. In a statement released to the media, Dr Swamy wanted all patriotic Indians to strongly condemn the AIADMK action. He termed the billboard is highly derogatory.
Dr Swamy asked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa who is also the General Secretary of AIADMK to ‘demonstrate in a concrete manner that she had not inspired the rotten billboard, and punish the functionary in such a manner that it becomes a effective deterrent for the future’. ” Unfortunately, such sickening sycophancy in the AIADMK and the promotion of lumpen low life in the party hierarchy has made such crass and vulgar portrayals by AIADMK functionaries as an offering to the presiding deity to propitiate her,” Dr Swamy said in the statement. He wanted the chief minister to take effective steps to remove this widely held impression in Tamil Nadu which has made Tamils a laughing stock in the nation.
