via HK published on October 18, 2006

NEW DELHI : Due to severe pressure from the mass public, opposition BJP and various patriotic organizations, the UPA has decided to go ahead with the hanging of Mohammed Afzal. The official told reporters that the government committed to executing Afzal as per the Supreme Court judgment. However the October 20 execution date may be changed. The pressure on government was further increased following comments by the Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Kasuri favouring clemency for Parliament attack convict Mohammad Afzal, failing which, New Delhi would have to rethink diplomatic ties.

In the mean time the special manila rope to hang Mohammed Afzal has reached to Tihar jail. The rope has made by the prisoners of Bihar central jail. The prisoners made the rope were happy about their little contribution towards hanging a terrorist.
