After doubling Haj Subsidy, Jayalalitha announces Jerusalem subsidy
CHENNAI: Following the dole out to Muslims the other week for Haj Subsify and Ulema pensions, Tamilnadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Tuesday announced financial assistance for Christians, who undertake pilgrimage to Jerusalem.
According to this GO - “The scheme will be applicable to all sections of the Christian community. Initially, this assistance will be given to 500 Christians this yearâ€.
Jayalalitha announced this while attending a Christmas celeberation organised by her in which many Church leaders were present. Recalling her promise made by her last year in this regard while participating in the celebrations in Arumanai in Kanyakumari district, Jayalalithaa said she would also consider other demands of the community also in near future.
