A slew of charitable projects launched by Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
KOCHI: The two-day Brahmastana Mahotsavam
concluded here on Sunday with the inauguration of several charitable
projects introduced by the Mata Amritanandamayi Math.
The
pension scheme for widows was inaugurated by Ernakulam District
Collector M Beena. The second phase of scholarship distribution for the
students was launched by Malappuram SP Vijayan.
Sewing machine
distribution for destitutes was inaugurated by Central Warehousing
Corporation finance director Pradeep Warrier and souvenir of the
mahotsavam – Amritavarshini-2008 – was released by IG Sreelekha.
Speaking on the occasion, Mata Amritanandamayi said that people should carry out their duties with patience.
“If
any one do his duty with haste, he cannot concentrate fully on it. The
present generation have no time to enjoy the real beauty of the world
as they are spending most of their time with mobile phones and
computers,” Amma said.
