A Plea from “Friends of Gujarat’s Progress”

Gujarat is the land of rich cultural heritage and birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi’s satya griha movement which helped liberate India, our beloved motherland from foreign rule. Today, Gujarat is rated as the number one state in India. In a short span of just five years since Narendra Modi took over as the Chief Minister, Gujarat has achieved the highest degree of administrative efficiency and modernization. In fact, Gujarat has become the best-governed state in the country where regional and national pride is overflowing. Numerous accolades have been awarded to Gujarat from international organizations such as the United Nations and the World Bank. The Rajiv Gandhi Foundation, headed by Sonia Gandhi, judged Gujarat as the number one state under Narendra Modi’s leadership.

Without a doubt, most credit for Gujarat’s phenomenal progress goes to Narendra Modi. We owe him a huge debt for his courage, dedication and tenacity in putting Gujarat back on its feet. Thanks to his iron will and wisdom, terrorism – the global curse of the 21st century has been eliminated from the soil of Gujarat transforming Gujarat into the most secure state in India.

Known as one of the most articulate, intelligent, and gifted public servants currently in office in India, Narendra Modi has thorough knowledge of what is wrong with the country and has the guts to do something about it. How the country needs his brand of honesty and realism today!

Privately, Narendra Modi leads a simple lifestyle; He is unmarried, owns no property and has no relations to support. He considers the people of Gujarat as his family and all of India is his home. His dream is the regeneration and transformation of Gujarat, and eventually his motherland, emerging as a developed and powerful nation. How sad that his strong nationalism and excellence in good governance is lacking in many so-called “leaders” who misrule India today in the name of “democracy and secularism”!

The people of Gujarat will go to the polls in December 2007 to elect 182 legislators. There will be two phases of voting, on December 11 and December 16. It is vital for Narendra Modi to win the elections with a sizable margin so Gujarat’s progress may continue unhindered. We therefore urge all NRI’s living around the globe to help support Narendra Modi’s team. In the current unfortunate situation of poor politics and biased media, the dreams of five crore Gujaratis must not be allowed to be snuffed out. Now is the time for all of us to make the maximum impact on Gujarat’s future. Won’t you please join us in supporting Narendra Modi and his team?
