A Hindu village drives out a Christian Group!

via HARAN.B.R published on March 16, 2007

While talking of the different kinds of attempts being made by the various Christian Missionaries, here is one incident, where in, an entire village chased away the ‘Seventh Day Adventist’ group, while it attempted to build a Church in the guise of constructing a Community Hall. This happened in Theni District of Tamil Nadu, where Christian Thugs & Islamic Terrorists are very active. We came to know of the incident, when we held a meeting at the same village.

Now, go ahead and read.

  • The incident happened in JJColony, Vadaveera Naicken patti village, Vadaputhupatti, Annanji Post, Periyakulam Thaluk, Theni District, in the month of September 2006, a month before the local body elections.

  • The village has a population of around 7000 to 8000 people and all of them are Hindus. The village doesn’t have even a single person belonging to the minority communities.

  • The “Seventh Day Adventist” group bought a plot of land from a private person at JJ Colony and attempted to build a Church in the guise of constructing a ‘Community Hall’.

  • The villagers clearly understood the nefarious motive of the Christian group and protested against them.

  • The Christian group argued that it would go ahead with the construction, as it is the owner of the land. It also said that it constructs the community hall only to serve the villagers.

  • When the local people suggested the Christina group to utilize the government’s community hall, which is freely available, it simply ignored the suggestion and stuck to its stand of building the community hall. As the Christian group’s motive was to indulge in conversion after building the Church or a prayer hall, it made repeated attempts but only in vein.

  • The villagers literally chased them away every time. They also impressed upon the local Panchayat President Mr. Veeranna Thevar of AIADMK to pass a resolution withholding the construction of the Community Hall at the said land. After elections, Veeranna Thevar’s wife Papammal got elected as the President of the Panchayt and hence the Christian group could not do anything against the resolution.

  • When the JJ Colony people suggested that they would purchase back the land sharing the cost among them, the Christian group refused to budge and even challenged the people that they would achieve their objective at any cost, as the present state government is always helpful to ‘Minorities’.

  • Another significant point is that, the concerned plot of land is just 50 feet away from the Mahalakshmi Temple, which is very famous for the ‘Coconut breaking’ ceremony, where in, hundreds of devotees sit in a line and the Pujari would break the coconuts on their tonsured heads.

  • Hindu Munnani has a very strong presence there in the village and Mr. Pandian (local Hindu Munnani leader), along with his co-activist Saravanan has led from the front in foiling the attempts of the Seventh Day Adventist group to build a Prayer Hall in a village, which doesn’t have even one person belonging to Christianity. The heartening fact in the whole episode is that, women participated in large numbers in chasing the Christian group out of the village.

We were truly elated when we were told about the entire incident and during our meeting; we called all those women and appreciated them. This village certainly serves as a role model for others.
