A bunch who decries Nation’s progress stands exposed

via Biju Padmam published on October 1, 2015

Till yesterday, resistance was via the story that Zuckerberg and Modi were jointly involved in a ‘whole’ sale of India via Digital India. But then, when truth ran side by side, the fiction stopped selling. The scene, as expected, shifted to poverty and hardships. Thus came the cat out of the bag- the real opposition (of these anti-nationals) was towards the project named Digital India- in short towards India’s progress.

At a time when every citizen should swell with pride, when national honour has been soaring high, there is a section that jut cannot bear this. It becomes agonizing for them to lap up any mammoth developmental projects that float in the nation’s way. This section can be labeled only on a single term- national curse.

When the nation celebrated Mangalyaan’s stupendous success, when Pokhran was an achievement beyond comparison, when nuclear reactors are set up and now when Digital India is on the verge of being yet another triumph, the gang comes up with their irritating slogans. (those NGOs that staunchly resisted India’s Nuclear reactor have never raised even a smattering of objection against those developed nations which produce and distribute gallons of the same, just for the simple reason that they are the ones who fund these NGOs).

Isn’t this apparent treason? But these very people never had a thought of putting across the same question over to those who ruled the nation for 60 years with the slogan ‘Gareebi Hatao’.

When our Prime Minister gave a clarion call to give up all possible subsidies (including gas subsidy), for the sake of those who are financially bereft, there was a crop who came up lashing at the Prime Minister, obviously with numerous justifications that sought their rights. But it should be remembered that these are the very people who are now clamouring for the rights of the poverty stricken section of society.

Let us not forget that this selective abhorrence displayed blatantly by these people against computers and IT parks have left Kerala in a slot slogging behind other states, in the field of information technology… this is called tactical politics!

Now coming to our Prime Minister Narendra Modi- in the same venue where Zuckerberg and Modi met, and later in the UN arena, our Prime Minister was lauded (even by Pakistan) for arguing vociferously for a project that would wipe out poverty (not just in India, but the world over) and climate protection. Let us not forget that that he returned home after conveying a purpose and a point. But the set of Indians we discussed about earlier will forever remain mum on these aspects, even if they are highlighted the world over.

As responsible citizens, it is our duty to discern legitimacy, without falling prey to those who shed copious crocodile tears, or be ensnared in lavish display of spurious affection, or be swayed by backdoor verbal contemplation. Let us be healthy enough to gauge truth, with our eyes wide open. Or else, what we stand to lose remain irreplaceable….for us as citizens and for the nation alike.
