‘Ground Zero’ Mosque
New York : Move by Jihadi groups in US to built a 13 storied huge mosque near the Ground Zero, is inviting wide spread condemnation from various quarters, especially from those families who lost their dear ones in the 9/11 Massacre. Construction is due to begin on September 11 next year – the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack.
Pamela Geller, executive director of the Stop Islamisation of America activist group, is organising a rally next month in protest against the development,. She said: ‘What could be more insulting and humiliating than a monster mosque in the shadow of the World Trade Centre buildings that were brought down by an Islamic jihad attack?
But Daisy Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement, said: ‘The time for a centre like this has come because Islam is an American religion.
Planting a mosque just two blocks from where Muslims murdered Americans on 9/11 is a huge slap in the face. Why shouldn’t Muslims be sensitive enough to realize that a huge mosque planted right near the horrific wound to US created at Ground Zero by Muslims is outrageous to us? They claim a right to be insulted by cartoons mocking their prophet, even to the point of beheading people – Reports one of the Anti Jihadist weekly from Bangladesh who have already started a campaign against this mosque.
