Don’t interfere in our religious affairs: Leela Karan to Geelani
Jammu, June 19: Asserting that Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani had no locus standi to interfere in the religious affairs of Hindus, former convener of Sangrash Samiti Leela Karan Sharma on Saturday said that separatists were again trying to create situation similar to 2008.
 “Kashmir is an integral part of India and not the personal property of Geelani and his supporters. There are so many religious places and pilgrim centre of Hindus in the Valley in which crores of Hindus have faith and nobody has any right to interfere in our religious affairsâ€, Karan told a news conference here.
 Recently, Geelani had demanded that the period of yearly Amarnath yatra should be curtailed to 15 days.
 Asking Geelani not to interfere, he said, “The time, place and duration of Yatra are decided by Shri Amarnath Shrine Board and the representative of Hindu religious organizationsâ€.
 “I advise Geelani not to play with the sentiments of peopleâ€, he said and added “The separatist leader has always played with our nationalist sentiments for which he should be put behind the barsâ€.
 He said Geelani should not forget that it was Kashmiri people, including hoteliers, shikarawalas and various other businessmen who earn their livelihood from Yatra. “If anybody tries to disrupt or create any type of problem in pilgrimage, they will be given a befitting reply,†Karan threatened
