After 2 years, Railway come into sense , Thanks to ABGP
The Tamilnadu unit of ABGP (Akhila Bharatiya Grahak Panchayat) prevented a catastrophe. The ABGP had represented on July 16, 2012 to the railway authorities to drop PAN card number from the list of ids required for Tatkal reservations in Indian Railways. The numbers used to be displayed on the chart pasted on the railway coaches, which was picked up by unscrupulous elements and used for benami financial transactions. Thus, for no fault of theirs, thousands of persons ran the risk of being victimized by the Income tax department. Last week, the railways removed PAN card number from the list of ids required for Tatkal.
