“Channels and Movies should Stop Ridiculing Servicemenâ€.
“By depicting army men as barging into bedrooms, brandishing rifles, channels like Mazhavil Manorama have taken deliberate steps in humiliating servicemen who have pledged their life and sacrificed their very being towards safeguarding the nation. This is highly deplorable. Screening a movie like ‘Ocean of Tears’ in Thrissur, a movie which has been banned in Kashmir, is akin to treason and anti-national †the board observed. Â
Another grievance voiced was the re-introduction of remittance of house tax by ex-servicemen, which was earlier exempted by the government. The meet also stated that various commemorative programmes in connection with Kargil Vijay Divas, in all districts of the state, had been a grand success.
It was also announced that state meet of Ex-Servicemen Seva Parishad will be held in Kottarakkara on 25 and 26 October.
