Las Vegas (US): Warren Jeffs, considered to be a prophet of the Christian Mormon faith, was arrested on charges of polygamy in Las Vegas. He headed the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which had a large following in the Utah and Arizona states.

He was charged with polygamy and abetting marriage between under age girls and older members of the sect. He was reported to have 40 wives. The girls picked up were usually family members of other sect members. The closed community never let any of their young ones have any contact with the outside world. The members of the sect were led to believe that Warren Jeffs was God’s chosen prophet and they were to blindly follow him.

The sect follows the original fundamental teachings of Joseph Smith, the founder of Mormonism, which include the practice of polygamy. Mormon Faith is one of the fastest growing Christian denominations. They are loosing ground in the US where the sophisticated people disown the faith. They are growing leaps and bound in the so-called Third World Countries where the illiterate poor souls can be harvested for a price. There is an estimated 40 millions Mormons in the world with much of the funding coming from the rich believers in Utah and Arizona.
