Bush shows the way to non-Muslim

American President George Bush deserves full praise from all peace-loving people of the world for showing the courage to execute the death sentence on former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein on the first day of Eid Al Adha itself.

By doing so, President Bush has conveyed a message to the entire dark world of Islam – that the civilized world has not been completely cowed into fear and silence by the swordsmen of the world’s most fanatic religion.

Though Saddam was not particularly religious while he ruled Iraq with an iron fist, like Pakistan founder M.A. Jinnah, he did try to gain the sympathy of Muslims worldwide by invoking Allah in his speeches towards the end of his life.

Though it is doubtful whether Saddam’s attempt succeeded in the Arab world, the fanatic Muslims of the Indian subcontinent were quick to extend their support to the brutal dictator of Iraq. The reason? They consider USA as a Christian country and they must support their Muslim ‘brother’ against the ‘Crusaders’, despite the fact that Saddam killed thousands of Muslims – Sunni, Shia and Kurd.

For most Muslims, particularly those from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh, what is right and what is wrong simply does not matter. Religion alone matters.

President Bush’s decisiveness is a ray of hope, however small, to a world living in mortal fear of Islam and its fanatic followers. But we can say Bush won only if he succeeds in conveying the message to the world, both Muslim and non-Muslim, that non-Muslims can indeed bring Muslims to justice.
