BJP predicted to get majority in Uttarakhand
New Delhi : Congress is predicted to lose power in Uttarakhand in the upcoming assembly elections and BJP will emerge victorious with a thin majority, according to an opinion poll conducted by a TV channel.
The poll, conducted by a TV channel and AC-Nielsen, predicts 35 seats for BJP in the 70-member assembly, elections for which will be held on February 21.
Ruling Congress is predicted to mop up only 23 seats, says the poll which gives four seats each to BSP, Uttarakhand Kranti Dal and others.
The opinion poll was conducted between January 28 and February 9, a press statement issued by the TV Channel said, adding campaigning in the last few days before balloting will be crucial.
