74% hike in Budgetary allocation for Minorities!

New Delhi : As expected , Government today announced 74% rise for Minority Affairs. If budgetary allocation was 1000 crore last ywear, This year its 1740 Crores.

Each and every Ministry will allocate an extra share on top of it for Minority affairs which will range from – Marriage to Education to Pilgrimage to Travelling to Madrasah to Jobs and so on and on and on..

Multi-sectoral Development Programme for minorities in selected minority concentration districts, provisions for National Minorities Development and Finance Corporation and grants in aid to Maulana Azad Education Foundation have received Rs 990 crore of the allocation.

Another relatively new scheme proposed has been for leadership development of minority women, which has received priority and would get Rs 7.26 core out a total allotment for the Ministry.

The allocation also covers provisions for National Minority Development and Finance Corporation (NMDFC) and pre- and post-Matric scholarships for the minorities. Allocations have also been made for new schemes like National Fellowship for students and grants-in-aid to Central Wakf Council for computerisation of state Wakf Board records.

50 crores have been allocated for the proposed Aligarh Muslim University in Muslim dominated districts of Malappuram in Kerala and Murshidabad in West Bengal.
