423 persons return to Hindu fold
ROURKELA: As many as 423 persons hailing from 73 families today returned to the Hindu fold at a ‘home coming ceremony’ of the VHP held at Dumabahal under Lefripara block of Sundargarh district.
Senior VHP leader Makrdwaj Mahanta informed that the 423 persons belonging to villages under Dumabahal Gram Panchayat and two other nearby villages, returned to their parent religion.
Sources said as per VHP tradition of holding ‘home coming’ ceremony a Kalash yatra was taken out with women carrying holy water reaching the venue in a procession. Amid chanting of vedic mantras the converted persons were purified with Hindu rituals.
