​Senior RSS Pracharak, Sri MC Jayadev passed away in Bengaluru

Bengaluru February 20, 2017: Senior RSS Pracharak Sri MC Jayadev, 85 years, passed away in Sagar Hospitals Bengaluru on Monday morning 9am. MC Jayadev was suffering from old age illness since last few months.

The Antim Darshan started from at 12.00 noon at Keshavakrupa, RSS State Headquarters in Bengaluru.

Shraddhanjali Sabha to be held at 5.00pm at Keshavakrupa. at 6.30pm onwards Antim Yatra Procession will begin from Keshavakrupa.

The body will be taken to his hometown Mysuru later today night. Final rites to be held at at MYSURU tomorrow Tuesday at 3.00pm.

Born in Mysuru on February 9, 1934 Mysuru Channabasappa Jayadev completed his graduation Commerce. Later he persued his Law Education. During his college days, he became an RSS Swayamsevak, later he turned as an active member of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

In Bengaluru, he joined for reputed Hindustan Garage Motors as a Manager and worked for few Years.

In 1960, MC Jayadev became Bengaluru Mahanagar Karyavah of RSS, served till 1975, serving as one of the longest serving Mahanagar Karyavah of RSS Bengaluru unit.

MC Jayadev was jailed during anti-emergency movement in Novemner 1975. He was jailed in Basavanagudi in the First batch of the protest and was released on March 22, 1977 along with RSS Veteran Yadava Rao Joshi.

In 1965, MC Jayadev pioneered the institution ‘Rashtrotthana Parishat’, now a leading Service organisation of Karnataka. He was one of the founders of Rashtrotthana Parishat, served as General Manager from 1965 to 1995 for almost 31years. During his time, Rashtrotthana Parishat many new and innovative projects in the field of Education, Healthcare, Literature and Seva.

The unique concept of Bharata-Bharati, a series of biography on nationalist social workers and other prominent personalities of various walks of life, was one of the breakthrough project from Rashtrotthana Parishat. Bharata Bharati Book series created a new record in the field of Kannada literature. He also groomed several young intellectuals during this period and supported them to express their nationalist views. Today, Rashtrotthana Parishat grown as one of the largest social organisation of the state. Rashtrotthana Blood Bank is the largest blood bank of Karnataka and Rashtrotthana Sahitya is one of the best publication house of the state
