‘Women are entitled to perform poojas’
KOCHI: We should move forward on the basis of the message of Sree Lalita Mahayagam that women are entitled to perform poojas, said Sreemad Chidanandapuri, chief of Kolathur Adwaitasramam, Kozhikode.
He was speaking at the Lalita Mahayaga venue in Kochi on Wednesday. ‘Moksha’ is the ultimate aim of all rituals, he said.
A Lalita homam was performed by swaminis of Lalita Mahila Samajam Asramam of Thirueankoyam Mala in Tamil Nadu. Sree Matha VIdyamba Saraswati led the homam. The pooja which started with Ganapati Homam in the morning ended with an Aswarooda pooja in the evening.
A musical concert by Jayan (Jaya-Vijaya) and Sangeeta Matangi pooja by Tantric Research Vidyapeetom director K.S.Rakesh were also held.
The cultural meeting to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday will be inaugurated by SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapalli Natesan. Paravoor Sreedharan Thantri will preside over the function. Vishwa Hindu Parishad mukhya karyadarsi Kummanam Rajasekharan and Kochi Corporation Opposition leader A B Sabu will speak.
