Veda recital at Valiachalai Mahadevar temple

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Veda recital is being organised from May 14 to 20 at the Valiachalai Mahadevar temple here by the Vaideeka Dharma Sabha based at the Valiachalai Gramam.

Prior to the beginning of the Veda recital, a reception with Poornakumbham will be accorded at 6.10 p.m. on May 14 to the Veda scholars at the Valiachalai Mahaganapathy temple. The scholars will be led to the Mahadevar temple with Veda ghosham.

Veda recital will begin with mahasankalpam at 7 p.m. Venkitachala Ganapathikal will give a review of Yajur Vedam from 7.30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Rig Vedam, Yajur Vedam and Sama Vedam will be recited from 4 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.

Bhoothalinga Vadhyar, Venkitachala Ganapathikal and Sesha Iyengar will lead the recital from May 15 to 20.

Purushasooktha japam, homam and abhishekam to Lord Mahavishnu will be performed on May 21 from 7.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. Upanishad recital will be held from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.
