The Thrissur Pooram was celebrated on Sunday with all it’s traditional gusto and spectacular ingredients, except fireworks display. As usual, it was the procession of the Kanimagalam Sastha which first entered the sprawling maidan. Soon the processions of the other seven minor participating temples also entered the Pooram ground one after the other. The excitement of the Pooram reached its zenith when the processions of the Thiruvambady and Paramekkavu temples stood facing each other at the Thekke Gopura Nada area. A large number of Pooram enthusiasts, including foreigners gathered in Thrissur to witness the spectacular event that has achieved international acclaim |
