Swami Bodhinatha to inaugurate Vidyadhiraja Cultural Centre

PATHANAMTHITTA: Swami Bodhinatha Velan, the US-born head of Hawaiibased Siva Ashramam, will inaugurate the Vidyadhiraja Cultural Centre on the second day of the 96th Ayroor- Cherukolppuzha Hindumatha Parishad at Vidyadhiraja Nagar on the sand-bed of Pampa at 7 pm on Monday.

Swami Bodhinatha Velan, who was installed as the 163rd head of the Ashramam which follows the Nandinatha tradition in 2001 after the demise of Swami Sivaya Subramania, will be received with “poornakumbha” on his arrival at the venue.

Swami Velan will deliver a discourse on “Sanathana dharma” after the inauguration of the cultural centre.

The Hindumatha Parishad will be held from February 3 to 10. Swami Poornamritanandapuri, general secretary of Amritanandamayi Math, will inaugurate it. Dr M K Ramachandran Nair, Vice-Chancellor, Kerala University, will preside.

ARRANGEMENTS: The arrangements for the conduct of the meet has been completed. The work on the temporary auditorium to accommodate 10,000 people has already been completed.

The facilities to be provided by various Government departments were reviewed at a meeting chaired by District Collector Raju Narayanaswamy.

Special KSRTC services from Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayamkulam and Pathanamthitta will be operated during the convention days. Temporary dispensary will be set up for providing medical facilities to the people at the convention nagar.

Twenty-five temporary taps were already installed at the convention venue to ensure drinking water for the participants.

The jyothi yathra, the procession carrying the torch to be lighted from the samadhi of Sreemad Chattambiswami at Panmana Ashramam to the venue of the Ayroor Hindu meet, will be taken out at 7.30 am on February 2.

After receiving receptions at Oachira, Chettikulangara, Mavelikara, Cherukole, Budhanur, Chengannur and Aranmula, the procession will halt at Kidangannur for the night stay and will leave Kidangannur at 7 am on February 3 and reach Ayroor at 10 am.

The procession carrying the portrait of the swami will be taken out from Ezhumattoor Ashramam at 7.30 am on February 3 and reach the venue at 10 am.

The flag procession, as part of the meet, will be taken out from Ayroor Puthiyakavu Devi temple at 8.30 am and will reach the convention nagar at 10 am.

On February 6, a meeting of Sabarimala devotees will be inaugurated by Swamy Abhayananda Theerthapada. Bharatiya Vichara Kendram director P Parameswaran will preside.

A youth meeting will be inaugurated by Pathanamthitta Collector Raju Narayanaswamy on February 7, Acharya memorial meet by Minister N K Premachandran on February 7, and women’s meeting by Aswathi Thirunal Gowri Lakshmibai on February 9.

T K A Nair, Principal secretary to the Prime Minister, will address the valedictory session at 3 pm on February 10. He will also lay the foundation stone for the Vidyadhiraja Centre.

The various sessions will be addressed also by eminent speakers including Dr N Gopalakrishnan, O Rajagopal, Kummanam Rajasekharan, Prof Thuravoor Viswambharan, and R Ramachandran Nair.
