PHILOSOPHY OF MAHAKAVI BHARATI

by Sadhu Prof. V. Rangarajan

Result of three decades of research, covering the political, religious and social philosophy of Mahakavi Bharati

Foreword: Smt. Prema Nandakumar

(Renowned writer, research scholar and author of English translation of Mahakavi Bharati’s poems)

Pages 320. Price: India-Rs.300; Outside: US$15.

Philosophy of Mahakavi Bharati is a research work on the philosophy of the Tamil poet, C. Subramania Bharati. Bharati was a practical Vedantin who gave a concrete form and shape to a way of life, of course, deriving inspiration from our ancient wisdom, but fulfilling the purposes of present day man. He not only preached his philosophy, but, like all true philosophers, practiced it to the very core in his life. Philosophy of Mahakavi Bharati is first of all, an attempt to find out to what extent Bharati could be deemed a philosopher of unique and universal thought, to find out the depth of his contribution to the world thought and culture. Philosophy of Mahakavi Bharati is confined to three main divisions viz., Religious Philosophy, Social Philosophy and Political Philosophy of Mahakavi Bharati. The work is dedicated to Poojya Swami Chinmayananda, the Siksha Guru of Sadhu Rangarajan, who extended all help to the sadhu to pursue the research.
