Kochi:Here’s something in store for all devotees of Lord Krishna. SreeKrishna Divyaleelamrutham, a semi-classical album that has hit the stands recently, takes you through the different phases of the Lord’s life. And the sonorous rendering of the album is by Sreedevi Nair, a third semester student of A W H college Of Engineering, Kozhikode.

SreeKrishna Divyaleelamrutham is Sreedevi Nair’s debut album. ‘‘I have been learning carnatic music from the time I was in the second standard, mainly under the tutelage of Pala C K Ramachandran and Leelamani Radhakrishnan. And now, I’m learning Hindustani music as well under Mohankumar’s training,’’ she says.

The album has been penned by A P Nalinan. ‘‘He is a devotee of the Lord,’’ says Sreedevi. Indeed, his lines reflect the devotion. Sreedevi’s voice has something unique about it that suits a semi-classical way of singing and that’s what prompted Nalinan to feature her in a musical album. The music has been composed by L Sasikanth.

So what’s unique about the album? ‘‘First and foremost, it’s the way in which the songs have been rendered. Secondly, through the album, the listener gets to know many facets of the Lord’s life that have not been much talked about. ‘‘Most of us know the stories of His birth and naughty childhood. But there’s more to the life of Krishna than all these, which one can find in the album,’’ says Sreedevi. Here’s wishing her loads of luck in her musical journey.
