Sidhivinayaka Maha Yagam from April 17

KANNUR: A ‘Sidhivinayaka Maha Yagam’ for world peace, being organised by the Sidhivinayaka Maha Yagam Trust, will take place on the premises of the Chirakkal Raja’s High School here from April 17 to May 2.

Briefing media persons about the arrangements being made for the Yagam, office-bearers of the organising committee of the Yagam said the construction of the Yagnavedi for the Yagam is nearing completion under directions of Dr Sree Vinayaka Chandra Deekshithar of the Coimbatore Sidhalingeswara Kovil.

As many as 25 Veda scholars from the Kumbakonam Vedapatasala and 150 assistants are helping him.

Chief Minister of Karnataka Kumaraswamy and Pejavur Matadhipathy Narayana Saraswthi are among those slated to attend the Yagam. The organisers said that it is after an intverval of 1,136 years that a Sidhivinayaka Maha Yagam is talking place here.
