Sabarimala:Urgent corrective steps needed

SABARIMALA: Whatever should not have happened in any temple or its precincts has happened and is happening at Sabarimala, the abode of Lord Ayyappa.

Unless corrective measures are decided upon and implemented immediately, there are possibilities of even some families of those connected with the temple getting exterminated.

This was, in a nutshell, what transpired on the second day of the Ashtamangala Devaprasnam being conducted at Sannidhanam. Once upon a time Lord Ayyappa was the owner of some 800 acres of forest land around the temple, called Poonkavanam.

Now only 64 acres remain with the Lord – or with the Travancore Devaswom Board. Lord Ayyappa is deeply pained over the shrinkage. Steps should be taken to restore his forest land to its original extent and glory. The thanthris (chief priests) are unequal to their task at present.

Taking cognizance of this fact, and the fact that Ayyappa has placed his fingers on the trigger, they should start mending their ways as per the age-old traditions and rise to the Lord’s demands or the consequences will be disastrous.

There is no pond worth the name for the priests to have bath. Steps should immediately be taken to construct ponds and wells. The Thidappally is in a total mess. Things which should never be brought to a temple are, at times, stored there, strong indications point out.

Thefts and misappropriation of the Lord’s money (hundi collection etc) by almost all sections connected with the temple seem to have taken place at different times. In some cases even women officials are involved.

A woman, a young beautiful artiste, seems to have entered the sanctum sanctorum. Sabarimala is a temple where the Lord is a brahmachari. Women between the age of 10 and 50 are prohibited from coming near the sreekovil.

The affairs connected with Pandalam royal Palace either are not at all satisfactory to the Lord. The money collected in the name of Thiruvabharanam exhibition at the Pandalam Palace and at the Raja’s counter at Pampa is being spent in a way the Lord does not like.

There is a High Court case regarding a Pettah Thullal. Ayyappa is deeply pained over this development. An amicable settlement should be reached in front of him at the temple sannidhanam, the Lord insists.

It has been found in the minute analysis of Sabarimala affairs that in spite of all these odds and worries, the Lord is all after the peace and welfare of his ardent devotees. There is no temple in the world like Sabarimala Ayyappa Temple.

Ayyappa’s powers and blessings are beyond the ken of ordinary human beings. The Lord wants supply of free food (Annadanam) and all comforts for all devotees who reach Sabarimala in search of him.

Donkeys are so dear to the Lord. The torture of these poor creatures is a routine affair here. This should stop forthwith. If possible the donkeys should be relieved of this work.

Whoever is prepared to prostrate before Lord Ayyappa at Sabarimala, totally surrendering his ego will instantly get whatever he wishes in abundant measure.

The Lord on these two days of the Ashtamangala Devaprasnam has amply demonstrated this fact through various unbelievably concrete signals. The prasnam under Parappanangadi Unnikrishna Panicker will continue on Sunday.
