Sabarimala: Thousands of Devotees witness Makarajyoti

SABARIMALA: Thousands of Ayyappa devotees on Monday witnessed `Makarajyothi’ at the Ayyappa Sannidhanam in Sabarimala.
Before their insatiate eyes, appeared Makara Sankranti star on the eastern horizon of the Sannidhanam. They also witnessed the light at Ponnambalamedu which flickered thrice.
The celestial star appeared after the Deeparadhana at 6.30 in the evening, when Lord Ayyappa was adorned with ‘Thiruvabharanam’ brought from the Pandalam Palace.
This was followed by the light at Ponnambalamedu. The Sannidhanam was filled with the divine chanting by devotees.
