Sabarimala shrine opens for pilgrim season

Sabarimala: The sanctum sanctorum of the famous Lord Ayyappa temple among the Sabarimala forests of Kerala opened for the 63-day annual Mandalam and Makara Viulallku pilgrimage on Sunday evening. Temple authorities expect around four crore Ayyappa devotees, clad in black and chanting “Swamiye Saranam Ayyappa, to visit Sabarimala in the season. In the last season, more than three crore pilgrims had had Darshan at the hill shrine.
