Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam Karnataka chapter introduces Insurance scheme

Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam is a service oraganisation working for the propogation and protection of Ayyappa Dharma. The Samajam’s activities has spread throughout southindia within a short time. Though the pilgrims come from different part of the country, large number of devotees are from Andhra Pradhesh, Tamilnadu, Karnataka and followed by Kerala. But it is unfortunate to note that the pilgrims are facing a lot of problems due to lack of basic amneties like shelter, quality food, drinking water, sanitation etc.

Samajam as a public charitable trust has been devoted to the service of the pilgrims and extending all facilities to the service of the pilgrims and extending all facilities through Ayyappa Seva Kendra’s [ASK] such as Annadhanam, drinking water, shelter, medical aid, information etc. ASK is a service oriented guidance centres situtated at major entry / exit points of city / town enroute to Sabarimala.

The state committee of Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam met at Sri Ayyappa Swamy temple, Garden Road, Tumkur on 13th November 2011 at 11.00 AM and announed an unique quarterly group insurance policy exclusively for sabarimala pilgrims from Karnataka in a joint tie up with Oriental Insurance Company Limited for Rs.1 Lakh for a premium of Rs.61/- per head covering the age from 05 to 70 years.

First of its type “Ayyappa Bhaktha Sammelana” was also announed which will be held on 31.12.2011 at B R Ambedkar Corporation Ground, Opp Adharsha Theatre, Halasuru, Bangalore at 6.00 PM, the holy congregation will be inaugurated by vidhyavachaspathi Dr. Sri Santhosh Guruji, Thrikutachala AyyappaPeeta, Bejjavalli,Shimoga and a spiritual discourse will be givenbySwamiji.Followed by speeches by Prof Sadhu Rangarajan, Bharathmatha Ashram, K R Puram, Bangalore, Shri Kummanam Rajashekaran, All India General Secretary, Sabarimala Ayyappa Seva Samajam, Sri S Shivaram, Cine Actor. Senior Guruswami. Devotional songs by Veeramani Kannan is also arranged, it was also decided to felicitate prominent personalities who have contributed in spreading Ayyappa Cult in the state of Karnataka.

Exclusive literature regarding rules and regulations of sabarimala vratham [austerity] in English & Kannada was published and distributed for the benefit of devotees. It was also decided to send volunteers to various seva kendra’s at Kerala which will be sent in batches for a period of 10 days from different parts of state.

Samajam presented a representation to the honorable Chief Minister of Karnataka, Sri D V Sadananda Gowda to be forwarded to the honorable Chief Minister of Kerala through the Muzrai Commissioner Sri B G Nandakumar, IAS regarding various issues concerning sabarimala pilgrims proceeding from Karnataka, which is being attached.

The meeting was chaired by State President- C Gopinathan, Vice President Sri T B Shekar, General Secretary Sri B Jayaprakash, Treasurer Sri S Vinod andTumkur district President Sri S N Krishnaiah, representatives from ten taluk of tumkur district were also present.
