Role of dharma stressed in countering evils

  Delivering a discourse on Sreemad Bhagavatham at the 97th Ayroor-Cherukolppuzha Hindumatha Parishath on the second day on Monday, Kesavan Nampoothiri said that the people across the world are living under various kinds of violent situations like war and extremism owing to large-scale deviation from moral and ethical standards.

  To ward off the explosive situation, the people should fight against evils by following the path of dharma, he said.

  He said that the people could strengthen themselves by practicing dharma and mind control through yoga. Through mind control, people could find their self and become closer to the God, Nampoothiri said.

  By quoting the example of Prahlada, who fought against the unethical practices and deeds of his father King Hiranyakasipu, Kesavan Nampoothiri exhorted the people to fight against the evils through firm belief in God and mind control.

  In the age of Kaliyuga, people should attain mental strength and determination to fight against liquor, violence, speculation, influence of women and urge for possessing wealth which cause all the problems across the world.
