Rashtra Raksha Sanchalanam begins

Kasargod : To make public aware and highlight various security threats facing the nation the Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh today begins its Rashtra Raksha Sanjalanam from Bekal Fort in the northern Kasargoad district to East Fort in Thiruvananthapuram. Thousands of Swayamsevaks participated the march.   


 


Dronacharya award winner O.M. Nambiar inaugurated the function by lighting a lamp. Swami Vivikthananda Saraswathi of the Chinmaya Mission delivered the benedictory address.


 


Inaugurating the function, O.M. Nambiar called upon the Swayamsevaks to do their duty by upholding ‘humane’ values at a time when corruption and other evils are ruling the roost in the state.


 


The march will cover more than 700 kms in 20 days. Freedom fighters and sports and cultural personalities will be honored during the march.  More than 10,000 people would participate in the march during 20 days.


 


The aim of the march is to spread awareness among the people about the various security threats faced by the people and to make them vigilant against them.


 


Twenty large-scale public meetings and several smaller meetings will be held throughout Kerala during the days of the march. A torch will be lighted from the resting place of Pazhassi Raja at Mananthavady and this will be carried all through the march as Rashtra Raksha Jyothi.


 


Nearly 5,000 members from 150 band units from all over the State and RSS activists of Thiruvananthapuram Revenue District would meet in six processions at the concluding meeting at Thiruvananthapuram and they will be addressed by RSS Sar Kariyavah Shri. Mohan Bhagwat on Republic Day evening.
