Rare treat for theyyam fans at Koyyodan Temple
MAHE: It was a rare treat for those who adore theyyams at the annual theyyam event at the Koyyodan Koroth Temple at Pallur here.
What made the spectacle of theyyams at the temple on Wednesday night distinct from others was the appearance of 54 Kuttichathan theyyams.
The Koyyodan Koroth Temple is the lone temple where a gathering of 54 Kuttichathan theyyams perform every year.
It was the theyyam artistes from the districts of Kannur, Kasargod, and Kozhikode who performed as Kuttichathans. Gulikan, Ghandakarnan, Chamundy, Uchitta and Karanavar were some of the other theyyams staged at the temple.
