‘Ramayana’ on the mobile
KOCHI: The ancient epic, ‘Ramayana’ has gone mobile with an IT savvy lecturer here developing a technique by which the entire text can be downloaded into one’s mobile.
P R Harikumar, a Malayalam lecturer of the Sree Sankara College, Kalady, fed into his mobile 3 ‘Kandas’–‘Balakandam’, ‘Aranyakandam’ and ‘Kishkkindakandam’ from Ezhuthachan’s ‘Adyathamramayanam’, which is in Malayalam, into his mobile.
So during this holy Malayalam month of Karkkidakkom, reading the Ramayana need no longer be confined to one’s home. One can read the holy book even during spare time at the office or even while travelling, says Harikumar.
According to him, downloading the entire Ramayana would occupy only about 800 kb space
