Musical remedy for stress-free life
KOCHI: With the growing popularity of the therapeutic power of instrumental music, the Hindustani and Carnatic ragas are finding new expressions in CD and VCD formats.
This is evident from over 30 CD versions of instrumental music exhibited at the Navarathri Music Fair organised at the Women’s Association Hall here. Exclusive collection of CDs and VCDs, brought from North India, are on exhibition.
The fair, which will be on till October 2, is unique with the largest collection of yoga, meditation and vedic mantras, claim the organisers.
“Instrumental music plays a major role to help overcome negative feelings and evoke positive elements in brain. The demand for therapeutic music is on the rise and this time, a large number of CDs in instrumentals has been sold out,’’ said Ramachandran of Viji Musics.
There is music to overcome fear and stress, depression and anxiety, in addition to music for treating high blood pressure, diabetes and diseases affecting heart and brain.
Powerful sound vibrations of vedic mantras, slokas and music in moola mantras stimulate the nervous system. This has been realised by the customers, who seek to relieve in the stressful life.
In addition to Malayalam, Tamil and Hindi oldies, ghazals, classical fusion and folk songs in CDs and VCDs are also available at the hall.
