Malliyoor Bhagavatholsavam to conclude today

KOTTAYAM: Bhagavat holsavam at the Malliyoor Sree Maha Ganapathy Temple, which was going on in connection with the 89th birthday celebration of Bhagavatha Hamsam Malliyoor Sankaran Nampoothiri, will conclude on Tuesday. The final lap of the birthday fete will be held on February 10.

The Bhagavatholsavam, which was being led by exponents Mumbai Chandrasekhara Sharma, Perumpilly Kesav a n Namboothiri, Mavilaserri Sankara Narayana n Namboothiri and Kizhakkedam Harinarayanan Namboothiri, was a major attraction for the devotees. Apart from remaining attentive with religious discourses, devotees thronged in large numbers at the Yagnasala during the Bhagavatholsavam days to offer special vazhipadus.

After special rituals in the temple to mark the birthday of Malliyioor Sankaran Namboothiri, bhajans led by T S Radhakrishnan and Manjapra Mohan will mark the beginning of the day’s fete.

A felicitation meet will also be held from 11.30 a.m. Union Minister of State for Agriculture K V Thomas, Opposition leader Oomen Chandy and BJP leader O Rajagopal will address the meet.
