Kanchi seer meets Mata

KOLLAM: Kanchi Kamakoti Peetom seer Jayendra Saraswathi paid a visit to Mata Amritanandanmayi at the Amritanandamayi Math on Tuesday evening. The Kanchi seer arrived around 5 p.m. and spent about 45 minutes at the Math.

Addressing a public function Swami Jayendra Saraswathi has described Mata as a noble presence in the land of Adi Sankaracharya, Chattambi Swamikal and Sree Narayana Guru. He said that he was meeting the Mata for the first time after waiting for 15 years.

Though the symbols are different, the God is the same to all, the seer said.

Jayendra Saraswathi was accorded a traditional welcome with Poorna Kumbham.

He held a private talk with Mata for a few minutes before addressing the public function. He also participated in the bhajan for a while. The Ashram authorities described the visit of Kanchi seer as a historic moment.
