IIMB to introduce Gita in syllabus
The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) will soon introduce the Bhagavad Gita, as part of its syllabus for modern management.
The intention to include it in the syllabus was announced by Professor B Mahadeva, Dean of Administration at a seminar on Saturday. Speaking at a seminar on ‘Business Management and Alternative Perspectives from Ancient Indian Wisdom’, Mahadeva said, “We are getting an expert opinion on this. Though we have some key aspects of ancient syllabus, for the first time we will be introducing the Gita. But to make it a part of the syllabus it will take some time.â€
Experts at the seminar opined that the inclusion is likely to give a new perspective on business administration. Some of the aspects in ancient scriptures will be used to train the students in the present day business and administration.
