Guruvayur-Deity unhappy, says devaprasnam

GURUVAYUR: Ashtamangalya Devaprasanam began at Sree Krishna temple here on Wednesday. The devaprasanam rituals were conducted at the Thekkevathil matam of the sanctum sanctorum immediately after the pantheeradi pooja.

Renowned astrologer Irinjalakkuda Padmanabha Sharma accompanied by temple thantris Chennas Raman Namboothiripad, Chennas Vasudevan Namboothiripad, Chennas Satheesan Namboothiripad and temple Ooralan Mallissery Parameswaran Namboothiripad performed the initial rituals of Rasi Pooja and Rasi Veypu.

Baby Lakshmi daughter of temple Keezhshanthi Manchira Vasudevan Namboothiri placed the gold coin in the rasi chakra to find out the Lagnam for the devaprasanam.

Kanni rasi was declared as the lagnam for the devaprasanam. A preliminary examination of the grahanila in the rasi chakra revealed various lapses in the observance of rituals in the temple during the past seventeen years.

Chief astrologer Padmanabha Sharma, in consultation with other astrologers, directed to conduct Maha Mrithunjaya Homam and Bhagavathi Seva for the next seven days as an immediate precaution and remedy for the smooth conduct of the devaprasanam.

DEITY NOT HAPPY: According to astrologers who began the Vichinthanam (debate) on the Rasi Chakra, many planets were positioned in the most adverse rasis which shows that the deity is unhappy over the lapses in the performance of rituals. The last devaprasanam was held in 1990. A detailed examination of the rasi chakra of the prasnam will reveal major lapses which occurred at the temple during the last seventeen years.

THAMBULA PRASNAM: The thambula prasnam performed on Wednesday confirmed the findings of the Swarna arooda prasnam. The Prasna rasi obtained at the thambula prasnam was again the Kanni Rasi with various planets in the most adverse rasi positions.

Astrologers Paravoor Sreedharan Thanthri, Ravunni Panicker, Nagilassery Raghavan Nair, Cherode Narayana Panicker, Manappuzha Raman Namboothiri, Soman Panicker, Jayaraj Panicker and Prasanth Menon are conducting the prasna vichinthanam.
