Gita’s Braille version released

Thiruvananthapuram:Bhagavat Gita has now been published in Braille for the benefit of the visually impaired by a spiritual institution here.


The first ever Braille version of the Gita, was produce with the help of an Association of Blind and software experts, said Swami Sandeepa Chaitanya of School of Bhagavat Gita The two-volume unabridged version in Malayalam Braille covered all the chapters and shlokas of Gita.


Chaitanya said that it was interesting to note that the Braille version of Gita open with the historical scene where Sanjaya describing the situations of the epic Kurukshetra war to the blind king Dhritharashtra. “So, it is fair that visually impaired persons in our time should not miss an opportunity to read and grasp this eternal work,” he said.


“When you go through the Gita, you can see how precisely graphically Sanjaya describes every minute detail of the war to a blind Dhritharashtra, for him to catch comprehensively in his mind,” he said.
