Gita Jayanti or Bhagavad Gita Jayanti is observed on the eleventh day (Ekadashi) of the bright half moon (Shukla paksha) of the Margaseersha month (November – December). It is the celebration of the holy appearance of Srimad Bhagavad Gita, the Vedic wisdom spoken by Lord Sri Krishna 5000 years ago. This year Gita Jayanti will be celebrated on Dec 6.

His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, the Founder Acharya of ISKCON, encouraged his disciples to distribute the “Bhagavad Gita As It Is” all over the world and set in motion the GITA BOOK MARATHON. There will be a special month-long program during this auspicious time of the year celebrated in ISKCON Bangalore.

ISKCON Bangalore has organized a grand book distribution marathon from  27th November 2011 to 15th January 2012. The marathon provides devotees with a unique opportunity to distribute the transcendental literature.
