KOCHI: It was the day of a long array of incarnations of the Paramaatma in different forms that echoed in the discourses on the fifth day of the Sreemad Bhagavatha Sathram on the Ernakulathappan Ground here on Wednesday.

Just as 33 crore Devas and 66 crore Asuras churned together the Paalazhi (milky sea) under the guidance of the Paramaatma for the nectar, a devotee should churn his own mind to remove the impurities in it and thus make it a pure seat for the Lord, Kavanad Raman Nampoothiry said while delivering a discourse on the Palazhi Madhanam (the churning of the milky sea for the nectar).

The churning of the Palazhi led to several incarnations, including those of Dhanwantharimoorthy and Mohini.

The day’s discourse began with the prayer s of Prahlada to Lord Narasimha who appeared from the pillar in the most astonishing and hitherto unseen form to bless Prahlada.

Acharya C P Nair delineated the incarnation of Lord Hari to bless Gajendra (the emperor among the elephants).

Guruvayur Maniswami delivered the discourse on Vamanaavatharam, Swami Sanmayananda Saraswathy on Matsyaavatharam and A K B Nair on Sreerama and Parasurama.

The last discourse on the fifth day of the Sathram was on the incarnation of the Paramaatma as Lord Krishna. Bhagavatha Kokilam Venmani Krishnan Nampoothiry delivered the discourse on the “Poorna Punyaavathaaram’’ of Lord Krishna to alleviate the miseries of Mother Earth.Adukkam Harinarayanan Nampoothiry, K Haridasji, V Vaidyalingasarma and Mumbai Chandrasekhara Sarma are among those who are scheduled to deliver discourses on Thursday.
