Chakkulathukavu pongala on December 4

T’PURAM: The pongala at Chakkulathukavu Sri Bhagavathy Temple will be held at the temple on December 4.
Chief priest Radhakrishnan Namboothiri will light the pongala fire at 9 am. Lakhs of hearths will be set up within a radius of 25 km around the temple.
A cultural meet, to be held at 5 pm, will be inaugurated by Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. Asianet chairman Rajeev Chandrasekhar will light the lamp at the ‘Karthika sthambam’. The pongala festival will conclude with Karthika deepakkazhcha and fireworks.
