Brahma Vidya Yagam begins

GURUVAYUR: A Brahma Vidya Yagam began on the premises of the Sree Krishna High School here on Sunday.

Thantri Chennas Raman Namboothiripad lighted the fire of the homa kundam.

The Sai Sanjeevani Trust and the Sai Dharmasthan are jointly conducting the Yagam. The Yagam rituals will begin from Monday morning. Pandal vaidikans led by Jatavedan Namboothiri will perform the Yagam. They will be assisted by 40 veda scholars.

Ganapathi Homam, Sukrutha Homam, Medha Dakshinamoorthy Homam, Saraswatha Japam, Panchagavya Japam and thrikala Pooja also will be performed. Durga Bhagavathy pooja and Lalithasahasranama archana will be performed on May 29.

Puthillathu Akkithiripad, Kaumaprathu Sankaranarayanan Akkithiripad, Puthillathu Ramanujan Somayajipad, Cherumukku Vallabhan Somayajipadu, Kaimukku Raman Somayajipadu and Thiakkad Neelakandan Namboothiri will attend the Yagam.

The Sai Sanjeevani and the Sai Dharmasthan have made elaborate arrangements for the Yagam. Sai Sanjeevani chairman Karmayogi Hari Narayanan and Yajna Nirvahaka Samithi chairman Kizhiyedam Raman Namboothiri will supervise the arrangements of the yagam. Yaga Samithi members led by chairman Mullathu Venugopal will supervise the reception, accommodation and other arrangements.

The Yagam will conclude on May 30 with the distribution of Yaga Prasadam.
