PATHANAMTHITTA: The Sanathana Dharma Acharya Samithi has condemned the frequent attacks on Hindu customs and practices by vested interests.

The central committee meeting of the samithi chaired by president Sabarimala Thantri Kandararu Rajivaru at Kollam passed a resolution criticising the hidden agenda of the vested interests to hurt the religious sentiments of the Hindu community by targeting the temple practices and dharmas.

The resolution, moved by general secretary Kuttiyanippuram Kesavan Namboothiri , criticised the move to sabotage age-old practices of Sabarimala and Guruvayur temples and hurting the religious feelings by questioning the very incarnation of Lord Sree Rama and creating a controversy over the birth of Poonthanam, the samithi said in a statement here.

The samithi decided to launch an awareness campaign across the state on temple customs and practices.

For the achieving the objective, the samithi decided to set up three regional committees headed by noted Vaasthu exponent and astrologer Cheruvelli Narayanan Namboothiri in the north region, Jayasurya of Suryakaladi in the central region and R Radhakrishnan of Mecheri Mana in the south region.

Awareness programmes on temple practices and rituals would be launched soon at important temple-levels across the state, the resolution said.
