Aluva Sivarathri celebrated with traditional gaiety
Aluva, Feb27: Aluva Sivarathri was celebrated with traditional gaiety and religious fervour through out Kerala on Sunday.
Thousands of devotees converged on the sand bed of Periyar river right from Saturday night for performing ‘Pithru Tharpan’ from the wee hours of Sivarathri day.
In an atmosphere filled with chanting of the holiest ‘Panchakshara manthra’ thousands of devotees had darshan of the Lord Siva at the temple here. Balitharas were arranged on the river bed and the riverbank of the Advaithaashram.
Volunteers of SevaBharathi offered drinking water and necessary helps to the people.
