All set for Vishukkani darshan at Sabarimala
Sabarimala, Thursday 14 April 2011: The Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala has been witnessing heavy rush since today as hundreds of pilgrims are camping at the pilgrim centre to witness the annual ‘Vishukkani’ to be held at the temple early morning on Friday.
The Travancore Devaswom Board has made elaborate arrangements for the ‘Vishukkani darshan’ at the temple. Melsanthi Ezhikode Sasi Namboothiri and his assistants prepared the ‘Vishukkani’ inside the sanctum sanctorum after Athazhapuja today evening. The sanctum sanctorum will be opened at 4 a.m. on Friday for the Vishukkani darshan, which will continue till 7 a.m.
A ‘Sahasrakalasabhishekom’ and ‘Kalabhabhishekom’ were performed at the Ayyappa temple prior to the Utchapuja today. The Tantri, Kandarau Rajeevaru, assisted by the Melsanthi, performed the Sahasrakalasapuja and Brahmakalasapuja at the northern Mandapam.
Executive Officer V.S. Jayakumar said a Laksharchana will be performed at the Ayyappa temple on April 16 and 18. The temple will be closed after the Athazhapuja on April 18, marking the culmination of the annual Vishu festival.
