Unfortunately, For Congress Appeasing Terrorists is Secularism

published on May 6, 2010

The BJP president Nitin Gadkari expressed his doubts over Kasab’s hanging as he pointed out that Afzal Guru sentenced to death for his attack on the Parliament in December 2001, was still not hanged. He said that with the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in power, the death sentence may only be on paper may never materialise.

When asked Gadkari to comment on whether Kasab would be hung as per the Mumbai court’s verdict Gadkari said, “I am not sure. Afzal Guru (convicted for the December 2001 attack on parliament) was sentenced to death and he is still there, and so are many others.” “Unfortunately by appeasing terrorists, the Congress and the UPA feels this is secularism.”

He also said, “Linking terrorism to vote bank politics is not right. Criminals are criminals. Terrorists are terrorists.”
