30 lakh Tonnes of Food Grain rotting in Govt. Godown’s

In a big blow to Congress government’s credibility in handling the food price rise, In a strongly-worded ruling, the Supreme Court told the government that food grains are rotting in godown’s and if you can’t do anything about it then distribute it among the poor before it starts to rot

The court has also sought government’s response on this. It is reported that 30lakh tonnes of food grain rot  across the country in various godown, while the price of essential food items had sky rocketed in the past few years.
