A group of girls chased away four armed Maoists when they tried to disturb the flag-hoisting ceremony at a Bihar Government-run school at Maigra in Bihar’s Gaya district on Independence Day.

The girls intervened when four Maoists reached the school on motorcycles and raised anti-national slogans, before showing disrespect to the flag, according to Superintendent of Police Daljit Singh. The girls protested and chased away the Maoists, who first opened fire but later fled.

Later, the girls brought out a procession against the activities of the Maoists in the village, he added.
